Dragon Soap
04:03
|
|||
You blew it straight through your head,
all those thoughts of the dead.
You could end it all or try to move forward.
Just between me and you,
all the roads lead nowhere new.
Just an endless cul-de-sac of sorrow.
But I'd like to live,
in a world that doesn't notice I exist.
Somewhere before we ever met.
Speak slowly, every action is recorded.
Cameras in the TV, microphones in doorknobs.
What a shame, that you have to live afraid.
Comatose, when you should feel infinite.
But you are finding out, what it's all about.
To live, to lose, to die.
In the same skin you were born in.

The Air
03:25
|
|||
Several times a year someone jumps off a bridge.
They took an idea and turned it into air.
Cause you know, we're all fed up with oxygen.
And we're searching for the next big thing.
And we don't care, if you think that's strange.
Nothing hurts me anymore.
I've been through that before.
But you don't regret anything you've thought.
You got bad ideas, and a rock for a heart.
But you won't back down from the failures you've got.
Don't let them tear you apart.

Golden
03:00
|
|||
Stolen out of time and space,
left without a soul or a face.
Everything's gone to waste.
I awake full of hate,
trying to wipe my past away.
But it sits and waits.
For a moment, I almost thought
I was golden.
Ripe as a tree in the orchard,
ready for anything.
Sitting in my room,
like I always do.
Staring at the light,
until my eyes are open wide.

Birthday
02:44
|
|||
You blame it on everyone else,
hiding out inside yourself.
If it's something we need to talk about,
don't react like I'm somebody else.
I'm old enough to die,
I'm young enough to be alive.
I'm old enough to die.
I'm young enough to be alive.

Gone Fishing
03:40
|
|||
Hooked and fried like a fish on a line,
it's alright. I'll be fine.
I'd wait forever to lay by your side,
and that's why I've gone away for awhile.
Slowly, rising towards light.
I break the ice with fishing wire,
and a cold desire.
This time, I'm too tired.
I keep quiet, and in the silence
I found calm.
Weightless and strong,
pushing the cool air through my lungs.

Back of a Horse
02:07
|
|||
I can tell you a story,
as fast as I can erase it.
And wipe it from my memory
like the back of a horse.
High as fuck in a meadow,
thinking about my life.
Rolling around in circles,
while the moon glows bright.
My thoughts pound like rain.
And there's no one else here to blame.

The Wilderness
03:24
|
|||
All night long, lost in the wilderness
of my own backyard.
I dropped a nickel in the ground,
and it swallowed me down,
to the bottom of an empty wishing well.
But life won't seem so long,
when you're cold and gone.
I'm always holding on,
to everything I've grown.
Till the end of time,
I will stand by your side.
There's no reason to hide anymore.
So let us take to the sky.

Get a Job
01:36
|
|||
If I could only stay asleep for weeks,
I'd be happy. Never having to rise and get a job.
Slowly dying, while I'm writing down :
That everyone's happy to know,
that everyone else is in the same boat.
Sinking, while we're hoping
for a lifesaver.

Haunts
03:29
|
|||
When you finally fall asleep,
in a place you've never been,
better keep a watchful eye on your teeth.
Because this town is filled with thieves,
who would steal most anything.
And they don't compromise with people who can't speak.
Silently, I defeat them with my tongue,
and the smoke enters my lungs.
And I'm lifted up above the ground.
Floating high around the town,
I'm a ghost that won't come down.
And the cops all shoot their guns into
the clouds.
I'm haunting you,
still haunting you.
But you don't believe I'm real.

The Light
04:44
|
|||
It follows me around,
like a dog that won't calm down.
Well I nearly lost my head,
way back when,
and I remember something you said.
"Death is an idea, and it won't make a difference
when you're not here. Running around high on speed,
you're convinced of everything, but when the light comes
who will you see?"
Are you unimpressed by the voices in your head?
Never asking permission, before cutting in
on a conversation about giving up.
There was an infinite difference,
and it tore us apart.
And death may seem ideal,
cause you won't feel nothing
like you do right now.
And I know you're running scared,
from an endless list of fears.
But when the light comes,
turn around and stare.
